Stanley Starts Sojourn in San Marcos

Flat Stanley arrived safely in San Marcos today, beginning a study abroad program of about three weeks. He is here to experience the difference in culture and customs of San Diego county. He left Miss McKnight's class yesterday, where my lovely and delightful niece Kendall is a student.

Stanley has come to San Marcos in the middle of the swine flu scare, during the time that Mission Hills High School is closed due to a probable case in one of it's students. Fortunately Stanley is well educated in H1N1 safety and knows that the flu can't be contracted by contact with pork products (I suppose that a cartoon pig could be considered a pork product).

He was immediately assigned a chore to perform with the family, and will be caring for the vegetable garden. Here he is tending to the tomato plants.

After chores were done, it was time for some recreation. Stanley chose to spend a little time on the trampoline...

And then took a turn riding the Indo Board. It's good balance training for a variety of sports.

Then it was time for a rest. He watched a movie with Kendall's cousin Natalie. Enquiring minds will want to know that they watched "A Series of Unfortunate Events".
